Following a very successful and informative New Members meeting and a subsequent get together for those interested in learning the peculiarities of the game of petanque, the expansion of the "Hunny Masters" continued with a third day added for the group.

It was decided to meet at Searles, the newest petanque members will take to the piste by the Fountain Bar. Several have never played before so exciting challenges lie ahead and we welcome everyone who wishes to be part of our growing and very social team.

We look forward to the summer, having struggled slightly with the cold winds this winter, and the thought of regaining the Hunny Masters Challenge Cup against "The Knights" from Kings Lynn U3A Petanque group; the cup is currently on display in the glass cabinet in the Fountain Bar.

Once again, we have been fortunate to receive annual membership of the Searles petanque piste for a very reasonable fee and thank their helpful staff, continued warm welcome and excellent facilities.

There are still a limited number of vacancies for the Wednesday group, so if any like-minded u3a members want to try this simple, easy-to-learn game and get to know us (boules are available for short-term loan), please do not hesitate to contact us through the website.
