Ian Gray started DJing at the age of 17, and quickly became involved in the emerging northern soul scene.

What started as a fun hobby became a lifelong job, and as well as developing into working for both commercial and BBC radio; on the latter, Ian returned to his roots to present the networked Northern Soul and Motown show.

Still doing a few gigs in his 70s, Ian tells the story of what has become probably the world’s biggest music cult. Be prepared to tap your feet… at least!
